ESI–Virtual Guardian Appoints Michael Utsal as Vice President & General Manager for Ontario and Western Canada

MONTREAL, QC, Mar. 23, 2026 — ESI–Virtual Guardian today announces the creation of a new position and the appointment of Michael Utsal as Vice President & General Manager for Ontario and Western Canada.

Utsal brings more than 30 years of experience in technology leadership and is widely recognized for building high-performing teams and helping organizations navigate digital transformation, cyber resilience, and AI readiness initiatives.

Prior to joining ESI–Virtual Guardian, Utsal served as Managing Partner at Wired360, a firm he co-founded in 2021, where he contributed to corporate strategy and pipeline development for IT professional and consulting services with a focus on emerging AI and cybersecurity solutions.

As part of this transition, ESI–Virtual Guardian and Wired360 have formed a strategic partnership to enhance the delivery and scale of specialized consulting services, including Arista and other advanced technology solutions. Additional details regarding the partnership will be announced in the near future.

Earlier in his career, Utsal served as Country Sales Director for Claroty, where he helped establish the company’s presence in Canada and developed a team supporting partnerships with enterprise, commercial, and public sector clients focused on the safety and resilience of critical operational technology (OT) environments.

He also served as Country Manager and President of NTT Canada Inc. (formerly Dimension Data), where he led and expanded the Canadian organization to support multinational clients, structuring complex, multi-year managed services agreements and fostering a culture of operational excellence.

ased in Toronto, Utsal will oversee regional growth and operations for Ontario and Western Canada, applying his expertise in cybersecurity, IT/OT convergence, and AI-driven data intelligence to help clients modernize their infrastructure and strengthen digital resilience. He holds a degree from McMaster University.
