Overview
Virtual Guardian provided API consulting services to TELUS for over 6 years, and contributed to migrating a legacy API Management GAteway onto a customized next-generation API Management product, delivering comprehensive API security and management solutions.
Challenges
The majority of communications companies still maintain legacy API gateway systems that decrease their efficiency and flexibility. Retiring these systems and improving them with new tooling can be a complex proposition.
Our Contribution
As part of the Solsys approach, we organized product-focused teams that are empowered to deliver a product in an iterative and predictable cadence with business alignment across the API Services product. We applied an Agile architecture and Lean approach, building a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) which we expand as needed, to replace legacy systems using an iterative model. During this retirement we added significant new capabilities to the next generation API platform, and enabled the delivery of additional security, reliability, API models, and self service tooling to suppor tthe growing and changing landscape in our client’s business.
